Made in 48 hours for the GMTK Game Jam. Theme: Role Reversal

Controls

A and D: move the camera left and right

R: resets the game

Quick, somebody wants to play a dungeon crawling game, but we forgot to make the dungeon! You need to create the dungeon as the player is playing it, making sure to keep the player alive and having fun.

You need to keep both the player's health (shown in red) and fun (shown in blue) above 0. To do this, you must place down an enemy (on the left side of the screen) and a reward (on the right)

There are four different levels of Enemy, each one getting more powerful, able to deal more damage to the hero. Experiment to see how strong each enemy is.

There are three possible rewards for each room in the dungeon

Treasure: Treasure is fun for the player, but will also make them more powerful, allowing them to progres through the dungeon faster

Healing: This will heal the player, but the minigame to get the healing is tedious, so the player won't enjoy it much

Traps: Traps will rob the player of one of their items, causing them to progress slower through the dungeon. This will also hurt the player a lot

How long can you keep the hero playing?

Nice game! I like the minimalism of the design: only 3 kind of objects, and 2 bars. It's very intuitive, and makes it easy to think about a strategy. It's also neat that the game speeds up after a while. I only found a bit confused by the abrupt camera movements, and having to control it with keyboard when most of the game uses the mouse. But it's manageable. Congratulation for this entry!
